Swing Player Protocol

Swing players will be selected by the Director of Training & Development, selection will be made at Try-outs.

Measures taken:

  • Must be a Full-Time player

  •  Batting & Throwing velocity

  • Times on the bases

  • Athletic (ROM)

  • Throwing mechanics

  • Hitting mechanics

  • Fielding mechanics

  • Cognitive ability

  • Work ethic

A Swing player's first commitment is to the team she is registered with not the team she swings for. You must have a signed Swing Player Letter for this to be official. Considerations will be made on how this would affect the team she will swing for pertaining to playing time for the swing player and the swing team. This decision will be made in the best interest of the swing player and her development.

The purpose of the swing position is to identify above-average players that can play up. We as an organization want to promote hard work and dedication to the sport. Our hope is to motivate all our players to achieve goals within our organization.

The benefits of becoming a swing player are the ability to practice with her swing team.  Participating in tournaments with her swing team that does not conflict with her registered team.

Swing player Age Guidelines: (8U can swing up to 10U)(1OU can swing up to 12U) (12U can swing up to 14U) (14U can swing up to 16U) (16U can swing up to 18U)

 Swing Guidelines:

The Director of Training & Development will identify the athlete for consideration to become a swing player. A discussion will be had with the family, and offer her this position. If the parents agree to this potential opportunity. We then go through the assessment process.

The swing player is not to be used as a full-time starter. Instead, a place for her to gather valuable experience and sub in on Defense & Offence or the Flex position. If she is a Pitcher, she should be used to help rest your starting pitcher for Sunday play. Making sure you pick your spots to put her in the circle to build her confidence.
